P&E Privacy Policy

1. What Data We Collect

Short answer: We don't collect any personal data.

P&E is a local-first application. All your tasks, priorities, statuses, and notes are stored exclusively on your device. We have no servers, no cloud storage, and no data collection infrastructure.

The only data that leaves your device is what you explicitly choose to share:

• Export/Import: When you export your tasks as JSON, that file is created locally on your device and never sent to us.
• Share Task: When you share a task via SMS, email, or messaging apps, you control the content and destination.

2. How We Use Your Data

We don't use your data because we don't have access to it.

Since all data is stored locally on your device, we have no ability to:

• Track your tasks or productivity patterns
• Analyze your usage behavior
• Build user profiles or segments
• Sell or share your data with third parties
• Use your data for advertising or marketing

3. Where Your Data Is Stored

All your P&E data is stored locally on your device using the device's native storage system:

• Android: Data is stored in the app's private directory using AsyncStorage.
• iOS (future): Data will be stored in the app's sandbox using UserDefaults or CoreData.

Your device's operating system controls access to this data. We have no access to your device or its storage.

4. Third-Party Services

We don't use third-party analytics, tracking, or data collection services.

P&E does not integrate with:

• Google Analytics or similar tracking tools
• Crash reporting services that collect user data
• Advertising networks or SDKs
• Cloud storage providers
• Third-party authentication services

When you share a task via your device's native share sheet (SMS, email, messaging), those services are governed by their own privacy policies, which are outside our control.

5. Data Security

Since your data is stored locally on your device, security is the responsibility of your device's operating system.

We recommend:

• Keep your device's operating system updated
• Use a device PIN, fingerprint, or face recognition
• Regularly back up your device
• Use the P&E export feature to create backups of your tasks

6. Deleting Your Data

You have complete control over your data.

To delete your P&E data:

• Delete individual tasks within the app
• Clear all tasks using the "Delete All" function in Settings
• Uninstall the app to remove all local data

Once deleted, your data is permanently removed from your device. We have no ability to recover it because we never had a copy.

7. App Permissions

P&E requests minimal permissions:

• POST_NOTIFICATIONS: To send local notifications for task reminders and recurring task generation.

We do not request access to:

• Camera or microphone
• Location services
• Contacts or calendar
• Photos or media library
• Device identifiers or advertising ID

8. Children's Privacy

P&E does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Since we don't collect any data at all, the app is safe for users of any age. Parents are welcome to install P&E for their children.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of P&E after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
